Advanced Craft GOLD CSCS CARD – is for those who have gained advanced knowledge of a specific discipline within the construction sector. It applies to all NVQs Level 3 and includes professions such as:

Supervisory GOLD CSCS CARD– This gold CSCS card is for workers taking the position of site supervisor on a construction site. It applies to the Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Work Supervision and all Level 4 NVQs.⁠

SOME FACTS ABOUT A GOLD CSCS CARD:

NVQ 3 in Occupational Work Supervision is more trade-specific and covers supervisory roles for individual trades, for instance, painters’ supervisor or formworkers’ supervisor.⁠

The role of the supervisor will always involve managing the work of others to ensure they are carrying out their jobs correctly, efficiently and safely.⁠

The role usually involves carrying out key health and safety practices such as performing site checks and inspections. In the majority of cases, supervisors will report directly to a manager, and work to the specifications set by them.⁠

After the initial assessment with the assessor, you’ll be given the workbook to fill in and deliver a witness statement.

It’s a requirement to have a valid HSE test ( from the last 5 years) when applying for a new CSCS card.⁠

Please allow up to 14 working days to proceed your qualification by CITB and CSCS center. Having these two documents you can apply for a CSCS card in the CSCS center and receive it via post.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION A GREEN CSCS CARD

To get your hands on a CSCS Gold Card, applicants need to be working in a supervisor role, and complete a relevant NVQ of Level 3, 4 or 5. NVQs are qualifications which learners work towards over a length of time while on the job. This ensures their learning has substantial practical experience as well as theoretical knowledge.

In addition, applicants must complete the CITB Health, Safety & Environment Test within the past two years. This is a short multiple-choice test which quizzes applicants of their basic knowledge of on-site health and safety.

 The duration of NVQ Level 3 and 4 in construction varies depending on your experience, available time to study and learning style. However, you can typically expect to complete the qualification within 5-6 months.

Having a proven work experience as a Supervisor in the construction industry and achieving the following: Level 3 (Occupational Work Supervisor), Level 3 (Advanced Craft) or Level 4 (Site Supervisor) SVQ/NVQ in construction Pass the Supervisory Health & Safety Test.
