OVERVIEW – This is to recognise the knowledge, skills and competence of individuals who specialise in steel erecting in the construction and engineering industries.⁠ The learner will need to demonstrate skills, knowledge and understanding in core subject areas, and will also need to demonstrate occupational competence in a specialist subject area.⁠

  • Contribute to effective working relationships in steel erection
  • Work safely and minimise risk in steel erection
  • Identify and deal with hazards and emergencies in steel erection
  • Move structural steel sections under the supervision
  • Install structural steelwork components
  • Work safely at height on steel structures
  • Assemble bolted joints in structural steelwork

CURRICULUM –
You can apply any time if you have knowledge, experience and if you are already working in plant operations.Candidates must complete all of the Mandatory units; candidates may complete the Additional unit but this will not count towards the qualification.
