OVERVIEW –
The Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Plastering (Construction) qualification provides a nationally recognised qualification for those working in the construction industry who want to specialise in plastering; the aim of the qualification to recognise the knowledge, skills and competence demonstrated by an individual in the workplace.

This course is also a part of Jump-Start Academy in pathway 2: Learn a trade and achieve NVQ (necessary to get a blue CSCS card). The intense courses are for those with some experience in Painting & Decorating, Plastering and Tiling. Progress and assessment will be carried out during the training with the assessor⁠.
This qualification is competence-based, candidates must demonstrate the level of competence described in the units. Assessment is the process of measuring a candidate’s skill, knowledge and understanding against the standards set in the qualification. The qualifications must be assessed in a work environment and in accordance with the ConstructionSkills’ Consolidated Assessment Strategy for Construction and the Built Environment, and it must be internally assessed by an appropriately experienced and qualified assessor.
Each candidate is required to produce a portfolio of evidence which demonstrates their achievement of all of the learning outcomes and assessment criteria for each unit.

CURRICULUM –
To achieve the qualification candidates must complete the three Mandatory units for both of the Pathways plus the required Mandatory or Optional Units from one of the Pathways. Candidates may complete any of the Additional Units but these will not count towards the qualification.

Candidates must complete 6 Mandatory units, plus 1 Optional unit.

  • Applying projection plaster and render, and maintaining equipment in the workplace
  • Installing mechanically fixed plasterboard in the workplace
