- NVQ Level 2 in your trade
- Health & safety test
- CITB Operatives or Specialist HS&E test
Choose from 33 Level 2 NVQs. If you already work in the trade, you build your evidence from real jobs on site. There's no classroom.
Gold card
Advanced Craft / Supervisor
Experienced tradespeople, chargehands, foremen and site supervisors.
- Qualification
- NVQ Level 3 in your trade (Advanced Craft), or a Level 3 or 4 supervisory NVQ (Supervisor)
- Health & safety test
- Operatives/Specialist HS&E (craft) or Supervisory HS&E (supervisor)
17 Level 3 and 4 NVQs, including Occupational Work Supervision and Construction Site Supervision.
Black card
Manager
Site managers, project managers and senior construction managers.
- Qualification
- NVQ Level 6 or 7 in construction management
- Health & safety test
- CITB Managers and Professionals HS&E test
Level 6 and 7 NVQs for managers who can show how they run sites and teams.
Card expiring?
Renew from six months before. Up to a year after.
CSCS lets you renew six months before your card's expiry date and up to one year after it. You'll need a recent HS&E test.
