Your CSCS card is about to expire. What to do?

Most CSCS cards last five years. You don't need to wait until the last minute to renew. You also don't need to panic if the date has already passed.

When can I renew?

CSCS says cards can be renewed from six months before the expiry date printed on the card, up to one year after it. After that, you'll need to apply for a new card.

What do I need?

• A passed CITB Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) test at the right level for your card, taken within the last two years.
• The right qualification for your card. Rules for some occupations have changed over the years, so check that your qualification still counts. For some jobs, CSCS asks for a copy of your certificate before you can renew.

You can renew through the My CSCS app, or your employer or training provider can do it for you.

Thinking of moving up?
