Getting a Blue CSCS card

The Blue Skilled Worker card shows site managers that you're qualified in your trade, not only experienced in it. Many sites and employers now expect it.

What you need

• An NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in your trade.
• The CITB Operatives HS&E test, or the Specialist test for some trades.

How the NVQ works if you already work in the trade

An NVQ is not a classroom course. It's proof that you already work to the standard. With Wataha:

1. Free advice. Tell us your trade and experience, and we'll match you to the right Level 2 NVQ.
2. Registration. We register you and give you an assessor who guides you through.
3. Evidence from your job. Photos, videos and documents from real work, plus an assessor observation on site.
4. Qualification and card. Once your NVQ is achieved and you've passed the HS&E test, you apply for your Blue card.
